The panels I went to were awesome but I would suggest one change if we were to have a couple of them in the future: The learning Japanese thrugh song should have been placed before the Japanese for Anime Fans panel. Dr. Anderson had everyone play a couple of games. Anyone stuck in the middle of that Fruits Basket game three times had to sing in Japanese and only a few people knew any songs. :-[
Overall, I think I have learned more of what I have been wanting to learn from panels this year than I have previously-even though I did not expect to learn some of what I did. I have a panel idea from the Macross panel but I also have had two other panel ideas that I have worked off and on for a couple of years now without submitting them for consideration. Farix, run another panel of fan ethics. It should be kept up somewhere, even if only a few attend it in the future. |

Reply. I dare you! (Not that it's much of a dare, or a challenge:).

I loved the plushie porn panel. It was very well organized and was a lot of fun. They should definitely make a new one and come back next year.

Except for about 3 or 4 no shows we had this year it seemed like the panels went well over all. My only concern was the Saturday morning panel that started right when registration started which was Anime cons 101. I am going to suggest next year that registration open about 10 minutes earlier so the con goers has some time to wandered to the panels room in the early morning. This way our friend Dougerz isn't freaking out cause that no one has made it to the room yet cause the door only just opened.
As for the mega-man panel, I tried my best to get a hold of them a hour before their panel cause even i was looking forward to it but I believe they gave a house phone number and not a cell phone number and just didn't show up. Eh.... It might be wise to kindly ask panelist to preregister along with the panel registration. I'm going to talk to the staff in the next meeting about the good and bad things I saw to see if we can reduce the no shows to Zero but you everyone has to keep an open mind since one of a panels got caught in a massive storm and we had to change it's position, things do happened that are out of the panelist's control to get to the con on time. |

I actually want to add to this as well. Mine was at the same time as Dougerz panel. I think that maybe we should delay panels til 10am or at least 9:30. I didn't have anyone walk into the Special FX 101 until about 9:35. I had to rush through material and didn't get to do the demonstration or really open the floor for questions at the end. However, I did talk with some of the people afterwords for a little bit to make up for it. I think Falmosta is right that everyone was still trying to register. ~Xehnis |

I didn't happen to run into any no-shows, but I'm surprised that so many people did. The only real complaint I have about panels is that sometimes there would be two panels that I wanted to go to that were at the same time. With limited time, I suppose this can't be helped, but I only missed two panels and I'm ok with it.

My begginers cosplay panel 101 only had one person so I probably won't run it again next year. *sigh* Yet more people showed up on the one I hosted two years ago. Maybe I should run a panel on Sailor Moon. Tecnically, I have no clue what people like now.
