I would suggest splitting the General Forums forum into Eastern Influence and Western Influence. Then putting the Anime, Manga, Video Game JP and a new Music JP and Movies JP thread under the Eastern Influence forum. Then put a Television, Comic Books, Books, Video Game AM and Music AM under that one. That way if you want to talk about, say, Twilight (I know a lot of you do!), you don't have to search through the General Discussion thread.

That makes sense to me!

I know that this is a forum for an anime convention, but we obviously have other interests that we seem to have in common. It's hard to keep them separated.

There isn't enough traffic to really justify any more forums at this time. Also adding more forums isn't conducive to a better community. instead it tends to fracture it more.

I'm running Internet Explorer 6.0 and I can see the buttons.  Now last night before I went to bed I got on my old laptop which I had updated to Internet Explorer 7.0 and none of the navigation buttons would show up on the forum.  Both of the computers I ran last night are XP.  My vista, which has Internet Explorer 7.0, has the navigation buttons show up.

Here's something nice... You may try a new browser such as FireFox or Opera.... I would not suggest Safari, it's less conveniant than FireFox and crappy if you don't use mac. There may be other browsers, but I mainly stick with FireFox. I'm using IE7 right now because I'm not at home, visiting Dad's girlfriend's, as usual every Saturday ;P

Personally, I'd give a bit more to the main page... It looks... bland? Maybe you can try different layouts or gets some designs, as I feel that change can be quite an appealing and tasteful thing for the new eye. While it's not guarranteed to attract many more, it may up the interest. Also, if there can be any work done with html and a few embeded swf widgets with your limited traffic, it may be nice. Although, this may slow the site down a bit, it might seem more appealing... I'unno. Just sharing some thoughts.

I disagree. If people post in multiple threads that interest them, they'll check those threads. The see that someone has multiple interests with them, they grow closer.

Thats why I had the idea of adding a pop up IM, that way people who don't want to give out the IM's don't have to and its a lot faster than waiting forever for someone to message, and it give's the option to talk about things other than, Games,Anime,Manga ECT....

Maybe if possible we could add an art forum or subforum, when some of the artsy type can share some samples of their artworks and ask for any available help or whatever.. Idk.. Just a recent idea. If not possible, should we attempt to condone so, should we post in the manga discussion? I'd feel that a tad "different."

If we don't get a special forum for it, a thread would probably go in the General Discussion rather than Manga forum. Not everyone draws manga (I do).
