What did everyone think about the special parent/guardian badge we had to offer with the purchase of a full price registration. I know that not every parent or guardian who was "dragged" into the con received the parent/guardian badge. We only made them available when we saw that the parent or guardian wanted to stay with their children but were balking at paying a full price badge. In addition, what limits do you think we should place on those purchasing parent/guardian badges in order to prevent abuse of these badges?

Well, one child should only need one parent for supervision. If they want to make it a family thing, perhaps just charge one adult half-fee for a second parent pass. I say that because in that instance the parents are not there to do our stuff, they're there for their child. Now if the parents come in cosplay, want to win prizes, or compete in the masquerade...then they have to pay full entry to get full fun.

The gaming room was awsome this year. Though, I was confused by the PC's in the corner that were off the whole time. What were their purpose?

They were suppose to be a Counter-Strike network that just didn't get running. I'm sure Baxter will give more details later as to why there weren't running.

The hygiene table was funny, but hazardous. I'm horribly asthmatic to the propellant in men's aerosol cologne, and I know several other people are, too. I asked for it to be removed and it never was. I had to avoid that hallway several times during the con.

it was a blast. i only get to see my friends, joey and john once a year and it's always during the tsubasa con. i been to the anime convention with my friend, john three times and my friend, joey two times along with john. we do think it would cool to have the convention again in october. i already have a idea who i'm cosplaying next year i'm going as raiden from mortal kombat, i really did feel like home at the convention this year even if i know alot of people must hate me at the forum because of my old threads. but i was wounding maybe you guys could maybe think about doing a comic convention in huntington at the big sandy store area. maybe have it in early next year since the anime convention is always held during the fall.i check and the only comic convention near west virginia is the mid ohio comic con in columbus,oh. and it's about 3 hours for me and always held the next month after the tsubasa con. i saw your company has a columbus,oh address and the mid ohio comic con is a small convention so if you do a comic convention in west virginia it doesn't have to be big like the san diego comic con. plus it would be great to have the first and only comic convention in west virginia. i would be happy to anything i can to help you make this convention come true. plus i talk to a few famous comic book artist like stan sakai and kevin eastman and you could always invite jen lee quick again. but the convention doesn't have to be a 3 day thing like the tsubasa con it could be a 2 day thing like the mid ohio con but i would maybe stick with friday and saturday instead of saturday and sunday. i know if we had a comic convention my friend, john would go maybe even my friend, joey. but you could work on your prices when signing in to the convention 35 dollars seen too much for one day while friday is cheaper. and not alot of people can go on friday. anyway thank you for your time and hope to see you all next year.

Something that I was thinking of when I read your feedback was to maybe have the liquidy anti-peresperant items available for use and of course for the taking. It is just as effective as a spray but not without the harmful effects on guests within the Convention. I will be happy to address that on our things to do list for the 2009 convention. Thanks for the notice and sorry about not being able to accommodate that.

You were wondering, not wounding. If you were wounding you'd get arrested for assault. To address your concerns: The people responsible for putting Tsubasacon on have enough on their plates in terms of financial and time investment without adding a second convention into the mix. It's difficult asking for the four or five days off (that includes travel time and setup on thursday) that it takes to do the convention. Imagine asking for that twice in a year in addition to whatever their usual vacation needs are. It would not be West Virginia's first and only comic book convention. We used to have them back 16-20 years ago up at the Charleston Civic Center. Two day conventions are relatively impractical because in all reality to get two full days of operation, you would still have to rent the venue for 3.5-4 days. That's because you'd have to get all the set-up done on day one, be open all day for days two and three, and then do the tear-down on the next day. Mid-Ohio-Con takes place at a dedicated convention center. The Big Sandy Superstore Arena and the Charleston Civic Center are first and foremost "event venues" not convention centers. Some help is provided, but the more help you ask for, the more you get charged. Actual Convention Centers have more experience with meeting the needs of Conventions. So essentially, yes, a two day comic convention *can* be done, but chances are it's not going to be the staff of Tsubasacon doing it. We're glad you have fun, and we hope you look forward to next year as much as we do!

It's in a new location this year. Not sure if it's still a dedicated convention center, but it's not the same place as it's been the past several years. I might be going this year! Haven't been since I was little.

I looked it up before I wrote about it, it's in the Greater Columbus Convention Center this year according to their site.

I think going three days made it or maybe because a lot of people wanted my picture as Alphonse and Zuko. Maybe because I felt more comfortable because I had already gone to one the year prior and knew what to expect and all that. But whatever it was I really did enjoy myself overall. This year was so amazing. The only thing is that I wish that while the masquerade was going on that my live action wasn't playing at the same time. It's a shame that I had to pick between the two (and really, there was no picking as I was part of the masquerade). Is there any way to contact the person that ran that room to see where they got the DVD? Or a way to maybe put something going on at the same time that isn't popular (or maybe Absolute Boyfriend really isn't that popular and that's why you chose to put it there?). That's really the only thing that I felt odd about. I spent my time doing what I wanted and didn't have to compromise any other time. The vendors were kind as was the congoers that I met. The vendor room was very roomy and the artist alley didn't seem so crowded like last year (but maybe because I didn't go at heavy traffic times). I look forward to next year.

Yeah GIR, the GCCC is attached and next to the Hyatt Regency that hosts other great cons like Ohayocon, Marcon and Origins every year. What a 1-2 punch those two places have!

sorry about that gir i wish i could spell and write better. i hated sounding dumb. that's why i hated reading outloud because of i have a 3rd grade reading level but my friend, joey and john have even lower reading skills because of their disability. i know it's not my job to tell them what month to do the tsubasa con next year. i was just saying that because my friend, john was saying he got off track because it was in september not october. he really try to invite people to the convention so the convention could keep running. and the reason i mention the pricing on saturday was my friend, joey said he might not go next year because of the price and it's harder to get everyone off work on friday and saturday is better for us. everytime the convention is going on we always go on a saturday. i know it would be more work if we had a comic convention too. just ever since i gone to the 2004 san diego comic convention i been wanting to go to another convention and i been trying to get to the mid ohio con for four years now since i move back to west virginia. lucky for me this year's mid ohio con is on a october not a november they always have it on thanksgiving weekend which suck. the 3 hours is not a really big deal or anything it's just i would to the convention by myself since none of my family like comic books and it wouldn''t be fun by myself. i had fun this year because we had more people go with us instead of the 3 of us and i only see my friends, joey and john once a year for the tsubasa con. i was lucky of enough to be able see my friend, john twice this year. and i don't think i could get him to come back again for the mid ohio con. and i would gladly help out anyway to get this comic convention come a life. but it's ok if it never does. i just wanted to let it out so see what everyone think of having a comic convention too in west virginia. by the way when will the announce of the mascot's name be made?
