I was asked when I'm absent from the studio, to put up some kind of notification of roughly when I would be back.

I'd like a small dry-erase board like people put on the mini-fridges in dorms. Then I could put various relevant messages on it as-needed and not have Dougerz cranking out non-stop signs.

A more solid electric circuit.... Sad

Kudos to the ladies selling blades, they were very kind and let the studio use two items as props, and just happened to have a Kukri I could buy for my dad.

People seemed not to notice the signs on the sides of the doors or hanging over the doorways. Perhaps the sign-holders like restaraunts use for holding the "Please Seat Yourself / Please Wait to be Seated" signs would work much better, placed right in the middle of the doorways.

That would be a good idea in theory but the only drawback from a dry erase board is either a) someone getting hold of a perm. marker and scribbling over it and b) someone erasing it by accident or intentionally. I don't mind cranking out the signs...we have an idea to help reduce a little of the running next year. Details following...

I suppose I could reset my laptop to show the bouncing txt with my message, set it to display at 1 minute, and password it.

That could potentially do the trick.

The entrance-exit doors worked to a certain degree. It was still necessary for someone to diligently watch the doors. Perhaps make the signs larger or put them in a more conspicuous place than above the door. Seriously, who makes the effort to look up? Tongue

That will be duly noted for next year. Also, I will probably get them in Tsubsascon-Color (R). Tongue

The vendor room was seriously awesome this year, but there was one thing that majorly disappointed me -
the music selection.

I'm not all for getting OSTs, I only get LoZ, KH, and very few other games, but I would really like a larger selection of Jpop and Jrock. One of the vendors had a lot to choose from, but some of the artists I was so excited to get, (L'arc~en~ciel, Gackt, Utada Hikaru, Hyde, Tommy Heavenly6), and some others not as widely known like Aural Vampire and LM.C weren't available...

That was some of the things I was most excited to get, and it wasn't there, so maybe we could get more of the next year? ^.^;;

Thanks for taking your time to read all these~ Thanks muchhhh. Wink

I would also just like to make sure her and her husband are okay! I missed her on Sunday

One complaint I received from one of the vendors (Aardvark in particular) is that people were opening their drinks on other vendors' (and I'm sure AA) tables...  in this case, the person managed to soak about three shirts.  Perhaps an empty table and trash can station near the vendor room entrance/exit so people can open their drinks safely?

We had a vendor dedicated to CD's and such coming, but they canceled a month prior to the convention.

You two are thinking WAAAAAY too high-tech here.  Pencils - paper - they're cheap and plentiful!!!  No need to waste electricity and ink ya know!  Cheesy

My biggest con gripe about the vendor room is that there really wasn't anyone guarding the doors.  I heard somewhere along the line there were supposed to be people watching them and checking for badges but every time I went in there no one even LOOKED my way and I wasn't always wearing my badge.  However when I tried walking into many of the panels I was stopped even when I WAS wearing a badge.  Last year we had really excellent badge checkers and even being staff people yelled at me if I walked out the entrance and walked in the exit!  I fear people may have taken advantage of this and since badges are what pay for us to have this convention - we really need to make sure everyone is doing their part to keep this convention running.

I did love the vendor rooms - I just wish we'd had one more person with something different, but then again with people backing out at the last minute, that's probably what happened...

The person running the vendor room tried to keep all the volunteers in there to do that but a lot of them didn't, I noticed that as well.

When I was in there I told every one I caught to turn around and go the other way, staff to of course that didn't work to well Tongue but I tryed.

I hope the same person runs the room this year she was great.

Jerad, this is definitely something that I will take care of for the next Con. There should of been 'No Food or Beverage' signs or something of the sort in the vendor room so that this wouldn't of occurred. Has this been a problem in the past?

I have my doubts that signs would work. Unfortantly hardly anyone  reads the "this is the exit" "entrance only" ect ect signs. Its best to get meet both half way, A ramune station would work best I think. People should have enough common sense anyway not to open the on the shirts. Im not gonna lie but those drinks are deffiantly explosive, one fizzed all over me. This is a reoccuring thing too. I talked to an Artist and his crew about it, they tell people to go somewhere away from their table when Con-goers wanna open the those bottles. Its need to be address with the upmost speed. Banning wont work either, it works about as well as the "No outside food or drinks past this point" signs, I smelled of the Wendys I snuck in on the entire weekend.

Yeah I remember on Sunday someone opened a ramune at the table where they where selling shirts in the middle of the room. I remember seeing little beeds of soda splashed on some of the guy's merchandise and so i think he wasn't to happy about that. I reccomend that there be a small table or a surface be availible for people to open their ramune away from the vender's stuff.
