If you have any feedback on our panels and workshops this year, please post them here. However, do not post suggestions for particular panels for next year just yet. There will be a request thread in the 2009 forum (currently hiding like Cat Ninja) shortly.

It's the bear...just thought the panels went real well! Except for the noise factor Saturday night, it went off flawless! Maybe signs asking people outside the panel rooms to watch the level of noise for those in the panel rooms to be kept at a tolerable level will work.

One thing that was done at Ohayocon that I really liked was that there was a mini-schedule outside of the panel rooms which provided the title, time, and description for the current, as well as next panel coming up. It wouldn't be too difficult to do since we have descriptions already on the website, it's just a matter of remembering to do it.

We definitely should and will have those located out of the Panel rooms next year. Add that to my list of things to do for the 2009 Convention

Definitely we need to post the events schedules around the conference center. One of the issues we had at the registration desk was that attendees where taking the events schedules out of the programs and leaving the rest behind. Later, when someone finished going through registration and picks up that program, there was no longer any events schedules inside them.

The biggest problem we had which probably caused this commotion was the fact that we didn't get the schedules done until a few days before the convention! Next year I think we'd all like to have a schedule of events planned out a few weeks ahead of time so we can actually post it online - then we can also at the very least print out the schedules for each room and post them. White boards are a bit expensive and we have to have easels - but if anyone would like to SUPPLY those next year...please let us know and we will use them! I noticed that the majority of con-goers never bothered to pick up a schedule or program, that's why we had so many left - they got hidden behind an easel half-way through too and I know no one was grabbing them after about half-way through Saturday. My own suggestion is, I know it might be the job of a volunteer, but someone should be handing out the programs with the badges. Also, I personally would have liked to have put in a schedule and description of events and anime playing in the program but since no one had a solid schedule until two days before (and we had to get the programs sent to the printer a week before) I couldn't. So staff members next year who are in charge of panels/events/videos - get them in early next year!! We did have some good feedback on how there were slight gaps between panels so hopefully we can do that again next year - at least for the panels that really needed them! Noise levels were high but I think we're going to have to deal with that no matter where we put the panels. I was thinking that maybe we could put something in that small area that would encourage people to be quiet...I'm not exactly sure what, games, a video or some such that would be volumned low... I'm not sure if anyone has any suggestions but if we filled that space, random craziness wouldn't be going on to make it so loud! Oh - and closing the doors might be more accessible for people to pop in if we put "COME ON IN!" signs on the doors and the posted schedules we mentioned before. I know a lot of conventions close doors to panels to keep down noise levels as well. Now for something good.... my panels were a lot of fun. I only did the Fanfiction 101 panel which was early on Friday afternoon, but I still had a good turn out. I helped with the pokemon panel on Saturday and that had a fantastic turn out (at least at first until everyone realized we make fun of pokemon rather than talking ABOUT it seriously...muahaha) - but that's to be expected and we still had a lot of fun! I heard a lot of great compliments on hands-on panels and ones where people could participate. I think we might ask more people to do something like Jen's Cell Painting class where for a small fee everyone can make something to take home with them. Origami, pocky panels, cell painting...all a few samples of audience participation - I'd love to see someone with a how-to-design cosplay accessories with Fimo or other clays or sewing - or HistoryFollower's suggestion of bringing in someone to do voice-overs with anime - Iron Artist was a hit too where everyone got to participate - I'd like to see more of that! I really had a lot of fun and I hope we inspired others to hold panels of their own next year!

But you're soooo good at it Dougerz!!! ^___^ Don't worry, maybe we can get you some help too come next year. I think the signs were an awesome addition this year - but what we should do is get a list going the day before the con to finish out everything so we don't have you running DURING the con since I know you were needed elsewhere too. But thank you for my signs - I really appreciated it!

Thanks for the sign on the studio table in the vendor's room too! Edit: I would like some signs that point to the studio specifically, to kind of increase awareness. Having it in the Vendor's room was a great way to increase our traffic without causing traffic problems, I just think it's the next step. On topic though, I enjoyed presenting the two panels I was involved in, even if one conflicted with the Martial Arts demonstration which made me sad. Can I do that, can I complain that I don't want my panels to conflict with the Martial Arts demonstration?

The Top 10 Most Attended Panels 1.Japanese 101 2.Hentai 3.DBZ (tie); Engrish (tie) 4. Zelda 5.Sailor Moon (tie); Pocky (tie) 6.FMA 7.Yaoi 8.Ultraball; Fruits Basket (tie) 9.Otaku 10.Rave 101
Please note we did lose the attendance sheet for seven panels and I'm think at least two of them would have been on this list.

While white boards are expensive, you wouldn't have to put them on easels. If you get the cheaper, lightweight kind, you can use those Command sticky wall hangers. They stick onto the wall and peel right off when you're done. I have them all over my apartment here at school. If you keep the marker inside the panel room and put a sign (sorry Dougerz ) next to each saying "Please don't write on board", most people are nice enough to obey.

well i was hoping next year you can hold the iron chief artist again and this time have it in the afternoon instead of early morning because i been wanting to do it for the last 2 years. and always miss it. but ms.quick's cell painting class was great i would take it again. she was really nice and friendly. i never painted before so it was fun. but i got painted all over my bag and mess up my painting. and i was going to scan it on my deviant art page. so i wanted to do it again so i can make it better. but bring back the sailor moon, dragonball z, and pokemon panel i miss the both the sailor moon and dragonball z panel (and i'm a big fan of dragonball z and akira toriyama) but my friend, john got to go to the pokemon panel and he's a big pokemon fan he told me he like it and would go again and they mostly talk about how better brock is. i did see part of the dragonball panel when gohan is fight buu. but i didn't wanted to walk in in middle of the panel. i really wanted to go to the abridged panel, adult swim panel, anime rpgs, toonami 10 years plus, japanese 101,guide to otaku dating.life after power rangers, photoshop with jen lee quick and i bet my friend, john would of really love to go to the laughing man squad and full metal alchemist and zelda those are his favorite series.

The mounting squares may be a good idea provided they stick to the wallpaper that is on the majority of the walls. The only downside of those is that it may leave a residue or sticky substance on the walls. However, we're going to get that all squared away in due time I figure. However, in general, were the signs effective?
