So it seems I've got my own disposition, and I usually feel as though I'm the only one with it. When I'm at large get togethers with other people, I act nervous and bashful and it takes time for me to adjust. I do also worry of my appearance, thought in modesty I'm not that bad looking, I mean, sure I've got some acne and maybe a few inches on my waist I wish I didn't, but it's personality that counts, right? Right? Commentary and discussion appreciated.

I had the problem for a while till I came to the con last year for the first time, I made some really nice friends. Just try and be your self as much as you can after a while I'm sure you wont be shy anymore

I've never been to a con before and I'm usually outgoing when I'm around my friends [which I will be since I'm going with a big group of friends] but I'm almost positive I'm going to be extremely self-concious about the way I look and I'm 100% sure I'll be very shy. XD
So you won't be the only one.

I wonder if it would be possible to have a meetup of new congoers who are attending alone to meet other new people. That way you could explore the con as a group and learn together. By no means would you have to stay with that group, but it's a lot less scary with other people.  |

At leaste everyone there has at leaste one thing in common. Everyone there is gonna be really cool and really nice. This will be my 3rd Tsubasacon and i'm yet to see anyone hate on another con goer. I'm sure there will always be a few insecure people who have to say thing about others to feel better, but who cares about them. You're gonna be there to have the time of your life and so is everyone else.

I never have been nervouse about going to the con because look at it like this....who are you trying to impress? Really everyone is here for the same reason; its to have fun and share the same intrest. Soooooooo Lighten up! Tsu-con only happens once a year!

I am a little nervous around people though during last years con I had friends there I actually knew so I had someone to talk to but when it comes to someone new to talk too its just I get shy but I am going to try and get that out of my system.

As you walk in and register to go to the con, they staff member gives you a shiney badge. I didn't make it last year, but I doubt its changed from the 2006 style too much. Just a simple piece of paper, a kinda like card protector sleeve, and a nice bit of elastic string with some hooks on the end so you can hang it around your neck. They also have markers there for the writing of your name on it.

I was a nervous wreck last year. It was my first time attending the con. My fiance and his brother in law were with me also and had attended the previous year and knew what to expect. I was a ball of nerves and worry much like you with similiar fears. Then I realized we were all there for the same reason and to just have fun. I started to relax and loosen up and had loads of fun. I'll admit I'm still shy but hope to over come it this year. So try to relax and don't worry about anything. We're not here to judge you, we're here for fun.
