To all those who wish to attend Tsubasacon, we are still looking for more panels for the con.

Now I'm sure you're saying to yourself “I don't know how to run a panel” or “I can't come up with an idea for one.”  Listen you don't have to make this a big deal.  Here are a couple of ideas to help you out.

Personally I break panels down into a couple of different categories: Fan Discussion, Expert, Workshop, Fan Panelist Discussion,

Fan discussion: An informal gathering of fans to talk about a topic.  More about talking about what you already know than learning new stuff.  While the panelist run the panel they aren't the answer it everything.

Expert: A panelist or panelists, share their knowledge on a subject that they have greater knowledge of than the attendees.

Workshop: A teaching panel where you learn to do something, be at arts and crafts or something on the computer.

Fan Panelist discussion: Like fan discussion or just the panelist do all the talking.  I'm not a big fan of this style.

Also the target audience is something to consider: geared to people who already know all about the series or just getting into or don't really know anything about it all or for all.  All are good choices.

There's some ideas of how to describe your panel and hopefully helped to make them seem easier to do.  Next question is what topic do you want to talk about in your panel.

Could be  specific series: Naruto, Bleach, Pokemon, Gundam, or maybe a lesser know series you want to get more people into.

A video game or series of them: Final Fantasy, Mario games, Zelda, Dynasty Warriors

A company or specific person in anime: Bandai, Gainax, Nintendo, works of Matsumoto, stories of Rumiko Takashashi

A genre: Mech, Horror, Magical Girl, Ninjas in anime

Good workshops to try that you wouldn't even need to really be an expert for everyone to have fun.  Just enough to know what you were teaching.  Oragami, Japanese writing, how to make Japanese snacks, AMVs for beginners

Also if you've mentioned wanting to do a panel for the con already you need to fill out the little form and send it in.  It's at the top of this page:   http://www.tsubasacon.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=8&Itemid=18
