Time to start thinking about Artist Alley!!!  Cheesy

As soon as we get registration up for Artist Alley I'll start accepting applications, emailing everyone who had a table last year - if you did, then you'll get first dibs but don't wait too long!!

What's new for Tsubasacon '08:

A)  The price is upped a bit to $40 - last year people felt that it was unfair for the artists to receive a discounted price at the last minute so it'll be the three-day rate at the door.  (Don't worry, most artists I talked to made that back easily!)
Cool  There will be 19 tables this year - last year we found there was a lot more room in our hallway for more artists - yay!  But you'll still need to get registered early!
C)  Forms will change slightly.  Artists will NEED to submit their paperwork by snailmail/email.  We were kind of lax on this in '07.  This is a way for us to keep a track of who was there, what they were selling and future contact information - plus I get plenty of emails from visitors of the convention who might like a way to contact artists after the convention for more commissions, etc.  So the paperwork will help us help you!  Cheesy

I can't wait to see all of you - if for some reason you're interested in getting your name on the pre-registration list, email me at: artistalley@tsubasacon.org

More information coming in February!

I've actually updated last year's form for this year. I believe there is still one more item to iron out.

Hello hello everyone!

I'm sorry I haven't been updating this forum space - I plan to see what I can do these next few months as the convention draws near!!  First updates!

We've got 4 confirmed artists!

1. Elvish Treat
2. Roseann Orthober (card purses)
3. Able Sisters
4. Jen Lee Quick - American Manga artist of Off*Beat!

I've also got another 9 requests pending at the moment (those of you who requested spaces - please get your payments in by June 1 or email me for an extension!)  That leaves us with another 6 spaces at the moment so make sure you email me with your request and then get your payments in ASAP!!  Don't miss out this year!  I know a lot of artists who missed out last year - but luckily we have more spaces and I don't want anyone to get left behind!!

Mr. Green In other news:  Mr. Green

Jen Lee Quick has offered to do a few great panels for us this year and I wanted to run them by you!  First off, "Photoshop 101" - bring your notes, bring your laptop and tablets and she'll walk you through the how-tos of coloring and drawing on Photoshop!   Secondly - "Cell Painting 101!"  For a small fee (probably $5) learn how to paint your own animation cells!  We'll supply you with the 'cell', the paint, brushes and the how-to!

We're also looking for more artists who would be interested in doing panels that are art-related.  Do you draw, would you like to do a panel on how to line-art or figure drawing?  What about making plushies or costumes?  I know there will probably be cosplay related panels but is there something you can do as an intro type course?  Think about it! We're always looking for more panel ideas!

Please drop me a line here in the forum if you've got any artist related ideas, even if you yourself haven't a clue on how to do it - is there something you'd like to learn at the convention?  Let us know!  We may be doing a fanfiction/fanart panel - what do you think?  What other ideas do you have?  This convention is for YOU - so what is it you'd like to see?  Cheesy

Those of you who have still not submitted your payments for Artist Alley, I've extended the first deadline to July 1st!  Make sure you send in your money, or I shall put you on a side 'waiting list'.  We don't want to lose anyone from our artist alley, but I would like to open up spots for those who are definitely coming - so please, notify me as soon as possible if you need an extension otherwise you will be placed instead on the waiting list.  Remember:  JULY 1st!

We just received two more Artists this year!  See the Artist Alley page on our main website for the list of attendees so far!

There are still quite a few unpaid requests - please get your payments in or notify me as soon as possible if you are not going to be able to make it!  We want to keep everyone in the Artist alley, but we would also like to make room for new people!

In case you're an artist and you'd still like to get into the Artist Alley - please email me so we can get you checked in and make sure there's still space!  Tsubasacon is a great place for an artist because we're small, but we have a really great hall where you are bound to be checked out!  It's plenty busy, lots of people walking by unlike some AA's at the huge conventions where people can't even find you!  Plus, from everyone I've talked to, they've had plenty of luck with selling whatever it is they make - AND I've heard, lots of awesome commissions!!  AND...the table registration comes with one pass for you - so no double charging at Tsubasacon!!

Come one - come all - get your Artist Alley Tables today before they're all gone!!

The artist alley signups are now closed!  However...there is ONE spot left if anyone is interested in getting in last minute - please email me immediately:  artistalley@tsubasacon.org.

Thanks to everyone who is coming this year!  I shall be sending off an email at the end of the week which will give you all the details on how to check in and where to go.  I will be assigning tables before you get to the alley - so if anyone has any requests, please email them to me before the 21st of the month and I'll try to fulfill your desires.  Cheesy
